During the NFL Draft, several aspects change from one round to another up to seven rounds.

The time allotted for picks is the vital change during the seven rounds of the NFL Draft.

Teams have 10 minutes to draft in Round 1 and 7 minutes in Round 2.

Through Rounds 3 to 6, five minutes are allowed for each pick and reduced to four minutes in Round 7.

2025 NFL Draft order
NFL 2025 is hitting the grounds on Thursday, April 24, in Green Bay with Tennessee Titans on the top of draft order.

In the very first round, teams are ordered based on tiebreakers including strength of schedule.

In subsequent rounds, teams that tied in the previous round will rotate their position. The rotation might change per the condition of the draft.

Trading can occur throughout the draft; however, it tends to increase in the later rounds.

Similarly, in the NFL Draft, when a team picks ‘VIA’ another team, it means they have drafted a player through a trade.

Trade can happen in several ways, including Trade of PicksTrade Involving Players, and Compensatory Picks.
