Born on December 30, 1997, English footballer Michael Newberry grew up in a family with strong ties.
His familial links assisted him in his international football career, even leading him to Newcastle United at 11.
Despite everything, the parents are devastated to lose their son on his 27th birthday.
However, on behalf of the family, Michael Newberry Sr. has publicly addressed what losing a son meant to the family.
He is also a former non-league football player, having played for Gateshead, a club near Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

His dad’s journey with football heavily influenced Michael Jr.’s entry into the sport and his early interest.
His dad described losing the Newberry family‘s “pride and joy,” on his son’s death and wrote on social media:
RIP, son, you were my pride and joy and we will miss you dearly.
He further noted,
We’ve had tremendous support, and we’ll always remember Michael with a smile on his face.
Unlike Michael Sr., the late footballer’s mother, Maureen, never appeared in the media. The lady must have gone through a lot, losing a son.
Besides, she and her husband also had four other children: Adrian, Kayla, Matthew, and Kyle Newberry.
Amongst all of them, Adrian Salen, the older brother of Michael Newberry, paid tribute through social media. He captioned, “My world has shattered.”
Adrian further added,
I’m eight years older than Michael. I would give my life to have one more second with him.
The whole family, including Maureen Newberry, Michael Newberry Sr., and siblings, have been navigating through grief.
Talking about late Michael’s football career, he played for VÃkingur ÓlafsvÃk, Linfield, and lastly for Cliftonville.
Clubs recognized his talent early on, but football didn’t come easy for him. Newberry faced challenges, including numerous back injuries.
Reports suggest that Michael was ready to sign for a club and represent them, but his spine injury sidelined him.
His injury recovery took almost eight months, and it became more challenging as the injury recurred later on as well.
