Tiger Bech was one of the victims of the New Orleans New Year’s attack; he was survived by his parents and siblings. He is the older brother of Jack Bech, a wide receiver for the TCU Horned Frogs in college football.
Former Princeton football player Tiger Bech played for the Ivy League Championship teams in 2016 and 2018.
During Princeton’s first perfect season since 1964, in 2018, he was named to the second team and received two All-Ivy awards as a return specialist for the Tigers.
While playing wide receiver for Princeton, he also caught 53 passes for 825 yards and three touchdowns.
Unfortunately, on New Year’s Day, Tiger Bech lost his life in the New Orleans terror attack.

Before his passing in a shootout with police, Bech was one of 14 people that passed away when a Texas man drove a pickup truck into the French Quarter and started crashing into people along Bourbon Street.
In addition to Tiger’s longtime friend, nearly three dozen other people were injured in the attack and are currently recuperating.
Martin and Michelle, the Parents of Tiger Bech, Both Earned Law Degrees
Born in Lafayette, Louisiana, on January 28, 1997, Tiger Bech was the son of Martin Bech and Michelle Voorhies Bech.
He also grew up with his older sister Virginia, sister Sophie, and younger brother Jack.
Martin, his father, has been Vice President of Acadian Companies since December 2021.
Previously, from September 2019 to December 2021, he served as general counsel at Linear Controls.
Additionally, Martin earned a B.A. in Political Science (International Relations) and a B.A. in French from Louisiana State University from 1986 to 1990.
Following that, he earned a Doctor of Law (J.D.) and a Certificate in International Legal Studies from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 1997.
Similarly, Tiger’s mother has been employed at Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr & Smith since March 2024 as the Talent Acquisition Manager.
Previously, from August 2015 to March 2024, she owned Michelle Bech Executive & Attorney Recruiting, LLC.
Additionally, in 1990, she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from Louisiana State University.
Following that, she earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law from 1991 to 1994.
Bech Family is Mourning The Loss of Their Beloved Son
Following his passing, Tiger Bech’s parents and three siblings are grieving his passing and are in deep sorrow.
Michelle recalled her beloved son and told NBC,
He was a shooting star in life. He was so great. He lived bigger than life. He was a brilliant boy. He was an incredible athlete. He had a huge heart. His friends came from every walk of life.
Tiger’s brother Jack shared a message on Twitter honoring his brother,
Love you always brother ! You inspired me everyday now you get to be with me in every moment. I got this family T, don’t worry. This is for us.
Additionally, at NBC10, Bech’s sister talked about how close she was to him and how the sad news had affected her.
Despite being shocked and devastated by Tiger Bech’s untimely death, his family is grieving and constructively honoring him.
Additionally, a GoFundMe has been set up to “honor” the athlete. The fundraiser referred to Tiger as an “incredible” young man who raised over $79,000.
