She, her four older brothers, and a sister were all raised by her single mother, and her father passed away while she was little.

Liv Morgan was a long-time admirer of professional wrestling and would engage in backyard wrestling with her siblings.
Morgan and her siblings would wrestle after school on a homemade ring in the backyard of their home.
The ring was made of layers of lawn chair cushions and a thin rope strung around four chairs used as poles.
Morgan says, laughing.
It was not legitimate or professional at all. We made it work with what we had, and we loved it so much.
She considers the playful matches as crucial to beginning her wrestling career.
