Princeton Alumnus Ryan Quigley Hospitalized After Falling Victim to New Orleans Attack

Ryan Quigley, a victim of the New Orleans attack on New Year’s Day, played as a running back for Princeton University, an Ivy League college.

The alumnus sustained injuries when a pickup truck driver crashed into a crowd of people, resulting in multiple fatalities at the scene.

Sources revealed that he was accompanied by his fellow Princeton graduate, Tiger Bech, who tragically lost his life in the attack.

Bech and Quigley were present on Bourbon Street around 3:15 a.m. on New Year’s Day when a truck plowed into a crowd celebrating the start of 2025.

St. Thomas More Catholic High School in Louisiana, the alma mater of Bech confirmed the tragic news of his untimely demise.

Two former Princeton University football players were in New Orleans when the terrorist attack happened on New Year’s Day.

According to the FBI, Shamsud Din Jabbar, a U.S. citizen and an Army veteran is the alleged culprit behind the incident.

Furthermore, the white truck rented by Jabbar displayed an ISIS flag and was equipped with explosive devices or IEDs.

Alethea Duncan, of FBI New Orleans, further provided insights into the attack, stating,

We do not believe that Jabbar was solely responsible. We are aggressively running down every lead, including those of his known associates.

Hence, the motive and key individual behind the attack remain undisclosed, with authorities intensifying their investigation into the matter.

Prior to his commitment to Princeton University, Quigley attended Lansdale Catholic High School in Montgomery County.

During his high school years, the athlete earned numerous accolades for his exceptional skills.

Ryan Quigley played as running back and defensive back for his high school, where he won Lansdale Catholic Player of the Year.

Moreover, he was named MVP twice at the Philadelphia Catholic League while playing running back.

Apart from football, Quigley served as team captain for multiple years in baseball and basketball, showcasing his versatility.

The running back competed for Princeton University from 2016 to 2020, graduating with a series of remarkable records.
