Aroldis Chapman Sparks Controversy with Inappropriate Video Featuring His Mother

Aroldis Chapman, a former Cincinnati Reds relief pitcher, released an Instagram video with his mother, Maria Caridad De La Cruz, that angered fans and many people thought was improper. In the posted video, Chapman was seen stroking and affectionately touching his mother’s chest.

Aroldis Chapman is a free agent and a professional baseball relief pitcher of Cuban descent.

He has been a member of the Cincinnati Reds, New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, Kansas City Royals, Texas Rangers, and Pittsburgh Pirates in MLB.

In addition, Chapman has played for Holguín in the Cuban National Series and is a left-handed pitcher and batter.

A member of the 300 save club and known as “the Cuban Missile” because of his incredible fastball velocity.

At the age of 15, Chapman began playing and now owns the record for the most strikeouts of any left-handed reliever in history.

According to reports, Chapman is making a comeback in Major League Baseball and has inked a one-year contract with the Boston Red Sox.

In addition, Boston just agreed to a one-year contract worth more than $10 million with seven-time All-Star Aroldis.

The team has not made the announcement, and despite several reports indicating the transfer, the agreement is still undergoing a physical.

Aroldis Chapman’s Parents Immigrated to the US From Cuba, and His Father Worked as a Boxing Trainer

Born on February 28, 1988, in Holguín, Cuba, Chapman shared a three-room home with his parents and two sisters.

Aroldis Chapman was born to hard-working Cuban parents Juan Alberto Chapman and Maria Caridad De La Cruz.

Before he started working for the city, Chapman’s father was a boxing teacher who helped potential fighters.

Maria, his mother, was a homemaker who was occupied with caring for the children and the house.

Furthermore, Chapman’s parents subsequently left Cuba for the United States, much as his paternal grandparents left Jamaica for Cuba to pursue a more extensive education.

Because Chapman demonstrated promise in baseball at an early age, his parents supported his interest in the game and his aspirations.

Moreover, the Chapmans were not a well-known family; their last name dates back to the late 1600s, when English settlers arrived in Jamaica.

Fans expressed Disgust when Aroldis Chapman previously Shared an Improper Video with his Mother

When Aroldis uploaded a video to his Instagram story in March 2023 that was completely inappropriate for the audience, there was a lot of uproar and inquiries.

The video that Chapman uploaded showed him lying on a couch with his mother, and he could be seen fondling and stroking her chest.

Later, the short footage was released on X, formerly Twitter, and received a uniform “Yikes!” reaction from followers.

A Twitter user discussing the strange footage wrote,

I’m Cuban and this isn’t normal.

Another user, who did not claim Chapman’s actions, said

Dude is a weirdo.

Even though viewers find the clip challenging to watch and respond differently, Chapman and his mother appear comfortable and unconcerned about it.
