Lexi Rodriguez Cherishes the Hispanic Ethnicity Passed Down by Her Parents

Lexi Rodriguez was born to latino and hispanic parents, and she proudly embraces her Hispanic ethnicity, even though she rarely discusses it.

Lexi Rodriguez was born in Illinois on March 11, 2003, and is a collegiate volleyball player.

Additionally, Rodriguez has been a member of the Nebraska Cornhuskers since 2021 and plays as Libero.

She has won three Big Ten Defensive Player or Libero of the Year awards and four AVCA All-American honors.

She is the team’s top scorer, has set numerous records, and received numerous honors during her time at Nebraska.

Unfortunately, on December 20, 2024, Nebraska lost to Penn State, which ended her time with the team and eliminated them from the competition.

Amazingly, Penn State defeated Nebraska in the 2024 NCAA women’s volleyball semifinals with a spectacular reverse sweep, winning 23-25, 18-25, 25-23, 28-26, and 15-13.

Although the senior-level competition dashed her hopes of winning, the player’s admirers expressed gratitude and wished her luck in her future endeavors.

Chris and Crystal Rodriguez Reared Lexi Rodriguez in a Hispanic Ethnic Home

Born and raised in Sterling, Illinois, Lexi Rodriguez was the daughter of Chris and Crystal Rodriguez.

After falling in love in high school, Chris and Crystal married on November 9, 2003, and now have two children.

Furthermore, their hard-working parents raised Lexi and her older sister, Kaylee, with love and care.

Since Chris and Crystal both had Latin American and Hispanic ancestry, it has been reported that Lexi Rodriguez is of Hispanic ethnicity.

More specifically, Lexi learned about the culture and values she still holds dear while growing up in a Hispanic family.

Before her marriage, Lexi’s mother, Crystal Delgado, derived her name from the Latin word “delicatus,” which has Portuguese and Spanish roots.

Although it is unclear which Latin country Lexi’s parents are from, it is evident that they are Hispanic and Latino.

Additionally, Lexi rarely discusses her ethnicity and upbringing, but it is clear that she values it and has never forgotten her roots.

Lexi Rodriguez’s Elder Sister, Kaylee Martin, Was an Illionis State Volleyball Player

Lexi Rodriguez’s parents, Chris and Crystal Rodriguez, as well as her older sister, Kaylee Martin, have always been there for her.

As a former state volleyball player, her sister Kaylee, in particular, has had a significant impact on her volleyball career.

Kaylee played for Clemson University during her college years, where she co-won several awards.

Following her successful collegiate volleyball career and graduation from Clemson, she is attending Illinois State University to finish her further education.

In addition, Kaylee instructs aspiring volleyball players in special education and coaches volleyball.

Notably, she recently gave birth to their son, Tatum James, and is now married to her long-time partner, Ryan Blackburn.

Given their close relationship, Lexi and her sister Kaylee frequently praise one another on social media.
