Eagles QB Tanner McKee Shares No Blood Relation With All Seasons Wonder, NFL Legend Joe Montana, Apart From Same Jersey Number 16!

The young QB Tanner McKee plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, and Joe Montana also hails from a Pennsylvanian-borough, Eagle, which adds another layer of confusion among people. Apart from that, they just have the same jersey number.

Tanner McKee and Joe Montana are both NFL quarterbacks, but the difference is just that they played in different eras.

While the Philadelphia Eagles drafted Tanner in the 2023 NFL Draft, Joe is already a legend of the game. He played a remarkable 16 seasons in his career.

Born on April 27, 2000, Tanner grew up playing the sport and continued despite critical health issues at 16. Now, he has become a professional and plays in the National Football League.

On the other hand, almost half a century ago, Joe was born in 1956, and there are rumors that they shared a relationship. The talks about Tanner and Joe sharing a grandfather-grandson relationship don’t seem to settle.

The rumors began after a viral Twitter video caught the mainstream headlines. Though they both are QBs and share some relationships, it isn’t something that is trending.

The news of Tanner being the grandson of the NFL’s greatest QB, Joe Montana, seems to have begun with a TikTok video.

On December 30, 2024, a user ‘Kyle Williams‘ posted a TikTok with the caption, “Joe Montana’s Grandson Final Start…

He just had to post, and the public did the rest. The news began trending within a few days, and now the question lies on whether or not they share a blood relation.

Taner and Joe Montana share something in common like both of them are QBs and have the same jersey number. However, just wearing the same jersey number doesn’t relate to them.

And after thorough research, it can be concluded that they share no relationship, blood, or of any other kind.

Tanner Jeremie McKee was born in Irvine to mother, Layna McKee and father, Jeremie McKee. Upon background search of the parents, we found that Daniel & Colleen McKee are his paternal grandparents.

Specifically, almost all of the family members were present at a ceremony at Centennial High School in 2017, which made the identification easier.

Unfortunately, details on his maternal grandfathers remain off the domain. Still, his mother, Layna is not related to Joe Montana.

So, the chance of the veteran QB being the maternal grandfather isn’t possible at all.

Upon cross-checking the facts, we discovered that Joe has three children, two sons, and two daughters. However, all of them aren’t old enough to have a mid-20s aging son.

Talking precisely about his grandson, Joe and his wife, Jennifer, have an almost 5-year-old grandson. There is an incident that highlights the couple’s personal life in the media and on the internet.

In September 2020, in a shocking turn of events, they successfully thwarted an attempted kidnapping of their 9-month-old grandchild at their Malibu home.

On a Saturday afternoon, while the infant was sleeping in a playpen, an intruder, Sodsai Dalzell, entered the residence.

Reports suggest that Joe and Jennifer caught her red-handed while she attempted to leave the house. The LA County Sheriff’s Department later arrested the intruder.

The 9-month-old child back in 2020 was potentially the couple’s first grandchild. Almost all of his kids are in their 30s, and it is justifiable for them to have relatively smaller kids, as previously mentioned.
