Brent Key and his wife, Danielle (Cumm) Key, both worked at UCF, with Danielle on the athletic department’s marketing team and Brent as a graduate assistant. They have been married for over ten years and have a devoted daughter named Harper.
Brent Key is a former player and current college football coach. As of 2024 season, Key is the head football coach at Georgia Tech, his alma mater.
He started his coaching career at Georgia Tech in the 2001 season as George O’Leary’s graduate assistant and later joined O’Leary at UCF.
In 2019, Key became an assistant head coach and offensive line coach at Georgia Tech, his alma mater, under newly appointed head coach Geoff Collins.
Collins was fired in 2022 after a 10–22 spell, and Key was appointed interim head coach. He went 4-4 as interim head coach, including notable victories.
The interim tag was removed on November 29 when Key was appointed Georgia Tech’s 21st head football coach due to the team’s progress during his tenure.
After Five Years of Friendship, Brent Key and His Wife Embarked On Their First Date
Brent Key married his long-time girlfriend, Danielle Key, on June 28, 2014, after meeting while working at the UFC.
Danielle and Brent were employed by the UFC, where Danielle oversaw athletic marketing, and Brent served as a graduate assistant.
They were introduced via a mutual friend, and since they were both involved in athletics, they clicked right away.
However, their relationship was friendship-based, with no romantic elements involved.
Brent and Danielle’s first date happened years after they had become close friends. Following the date, they became closer and enjoyed each other’s company.
Danielle believes she and Brent have had some really highs and lows, considering they were both fired from their job at one point.
She says they are in the best situation now after suffering through the most trying period of their lives.
Additionally, the couple has a beautiful baby daughter named Harper, and they raise her together in Atlanta.
Danielle Key Spent Six Years at UCF Athletics as an Executive Administrative Assistant
Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Danielle, Brent’s better half, grew up in a working-class family in her home state.
Danielle earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with a communication major from the University of Central Florida in 2005.
Following her bachelor’s degree, she enrolled in the same university to pursue a Master of Arts (MA) in Communication and Media Studies, which she completed in 2007.
After earning her master’s degree, she spent three years as a marketing coordinator at her alma mater, UCF.
Danielle was UCF Baseball’s main marketing coordinator. She also helped market fifteen additional collegiate sports, such as men’s and women’s basketball and football.
After leaving UCF, she worked as a sales and marketing assistant for the Houston Astros. She assisted with gameday marketing and group sales during the spring training season.
Prior to departing in 2015, she spent six years working as an executive administrative assistant at UCF Athletics.
Quiet by nature, Danielle spends much of her time caring for her family, including helping her husband and raising her child.
She has no social media presence and is constantly away from public scrutiny.
